Our Mission
At Covenant Bible Institute, we prepare and equip followers of Jesus to flourish in their personal life, spiritual walk, relationships, and chosen vocation, by being transformed by the Spirit, through the study of God’s Word, in community with others.
Why a Diploma Program?
A Diploma is a 48-credit hour program that allows the student to gain a thorough understanding, proficient knowledge, and increased skills in their chosen field of study. Students engage in deep theological reflection and survey a broad range of material in a ministry area: Biblical Studies, Theology, or Practical Ministry. All courses are biblically based and intended to give students the principles and practices of interpretation that will equip them for a lifetime of joyful Bible study, spiritual growth, and Spirit-empowered ministry.
Through class discussions, guided learning experiences, and research projects, students learn and practice the skills necessary for:
understanding various theological perspectives accurately interpreting and communicating God’s Word effectively teaching and preaching biblical principles launching or leading a ministry starting or supervising a ministry department in a local church effective verbal and written communication helping others grow spiritually, and engaging people with grace, understanding, and love
What is the Format for Classes?
Covenant Bible Institute provides a learning environment that is holistic, collaborative and creative, as well as accessible and flexible. Almost all of our classes are offered through a hybrid instructional model, with both in-person and online students participating simultaneously. This allows students the option of connecting with classmates face-to-face on our Lakewood campus, or engaging via zoom. Each quarter runs 10-weeks (Fall, Winter and Spring), and each class meets one time a week.
What are the Requirements for a Diploma?
A Diploma requires the successful completion of 16 courses, which vary depending on the field of study. Students may complete a Diploma in two years.

Covenant Bible Institute can work with your church or pastor to create a customized Diploma program. Programs may be specially designed to serve and enhance the ministry of the church by helping to equip members, teachers, leaders, elders or pastors in a specific area.
