Covenant Bible Institute has worked diligently to provide the best available degrees in Biblical Education since its founding in 1985, by the late Dr. Merritt Lawson.

Part of the Institute’s continuing vision has been to provide a path for students to earn an accredited Bachelor's or Master's Degree that is affordable, accessible, and relevant to the student's goals and context. By partnering with Kairos University, we are uniquely positioned to offer the following fully accredited degrees:

Kairos Degree students who attend in partnership with Covenant Bible Institute have access to a wider range of classes (in-person and online), educational resources, personalized advising, and additional financial aid, that are only available through Covenant Bible Institute.

Kairos University Partnership & Degree Program

Kairos University offers a transformative online learning experience, integrating mentorship, vocational excellence, and contextualized study to deepen your faith, enhance your communication skills, and equip you for impactful leadership.

Kairos University is known for its competency-based approach to theological education and for helping students develop proficiency within their current or desired vocational context. Kairos University is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and The Higher Learning Commission.

Students can leverage CBI’s learning experiences as part of their Kairos master’s studies while staying connected to localized mentoring and student engagement support provided by IOS.

By inviting Kairos to walk with you on this journey, you are taking hold of a unique opportunity to deepen your faith while simultaneously developing the knowledge to flourish in your vocation. We do this by helping you develop a mentor team that walks with you throughout the entire program. Then, we invite you to integrate discipleship, vocational excellence, and proficiency learning.

What is the Format for Classes?

Covenant Bible Institute provides a learning environment that is holistic, collaborative and creative, as well as accessible and flexible. Almost all of our classes are offered through a hybrid instructional model, with both in-person and online students participating simultaneously. This allows students the option of connecting with classmates face-to-face on our Lakewood campus, or engaging via zoom. Each quarter runs 8-weeks (Fall, Winter and Spring), and each class meets one time a week.

What are the Requirements for a Diploma?

A Diploma requires the successful completion of 16 courses, which vary depending on the field of study. Students may complete a Diploma in two years.
